You'll have a great location right on Tillamook Bay at this adorable, three-bedroom Bay City vacation cabin. Whether you relax on the front porch with mug of coffee in the morning, or sit around the outdoor fireplace on the back deck, you'll enjoy your time right at the water's edge.
Inside, you'll find a bright and warm interior, with tall ceilings, comfortable furniture, a wood burning stove for keeping everyone all warm and toasty, and a large flat screen TV with DirecTV, a BluRay player, and Netflix streaming video service. Of course, with the gorgeous bay views right outside the living room windows, you may opt to spend some time gazing out at the water instead.
The eat-in kitchen is truly gourmet-worthy with stainless steel appliances, beautiful countertops, a colorful, tile backsplash, and more gorgeous bay views. You'll have everything you need to throw together a vacation feast here, and when you're done eating, let the dishwasher clean all the plates, glasses, and silverware while you go relax in front of the fire with a glass of wine and use the WiFi to check your email.
Outside, in addition to the deck's fireplace, there's a propane grill and crab cooker for preparing both surf and turf specialties. And the view! In nice weather, you'll definitely want to eat outside and watch the sunset over the bay.
The bedroom downstairs has a queen bed, a cuddly quilt, and a beautiful wood beamed ceiling. There's also a second flat screen TV in this room and because it's the only bedroom on this floor, a bit extra privacy.
Upstairs, there's a large bedroom with another queen sized bed, colorful paisley bedding, and a great view of the bay, with leather and wood accents throughout this bright and airy room. The third bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed set - great for kids to share. This home also has two bathrooms and will sleep seven guests comfortably. The maximum occupancy is eight, with one person sleeping on the living room couch. Other amenities include a washer and dryer, stereo, CD player, and sound dock.
The large lot has ample parking for everyone and even boat parking! From here, spend the day out on the bay by boat, or just take in the sights from land. Tillamook Bay is world famous for fall Chinook fishing. Salmon fishing in Tillamook Bay starts in May and runs through December, with the peak run in the fall. Crabbing is also a popular sport on the bay so you'll want to get out there and put your crab cooker to good use!
From Bay City, you are very close to a number of Oregon Coast towns to explore. Just five miles south is the town of Tillamook for cheese tasting at the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory - on warm sunny days you can even get an ice cream cone. Following the road around the bay, you'll come to the Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge, Cape Meares State Park, and Cape Meares Lighthouse guarding on the rocky coast.
If you choose to drive further south, you'll hit the small coastal town of Oceanside, with it's miles of sandy beach for walking along the shore, hunting for shells, throwing a frisbee, or just exploring. Finish up your day trip with a late lunch or early dinner at Roseanna's Cafe right in town for bowls of hearty clam chowder, sandwiches, home-baked pies, and even holiday meals with all the trimmings.
Only 77 miles from Portland, quiet, secluded, and charming Bay City offers visitors an opportunity to unwind and relax... and there's no place better for that than this lovely vacation cabin right on the bay!
Additional amenities include: cable / satellite TV, washer / dryer.
By requesting details of this property your enquiry will be sent to FlipKey, Inc. 179 Lincoln St., Suite 405, Boston, MA 02111. FlipKey will, in turn, contact the owner or appointed manager of the property so that they can respond to your enquiry and answer any questions that you may have. Most owners/managers respond to travelers by phone or email within 24 to 48 hours. Owners and managers are very diligent about their business and do their best to respond quickly to interested renters.
You will be put in touch with owners or managers directly. You can use the form located on the listing page to directly contact the owner or manager about your interest in renting the property.
Contact a few rentals. Ask questions before you make a reservation. We recommend contacting at least 5 rental owners or managers to make sure you can choose the perfect place.
Pick a vacation rental. You will receive responses from rental owners and managers confirming rates and availability. Now you're ready to select a rental and book your reservation.
Sign a rental agreement. A rental agreement helps everyone understand the pricing, policies, and check-in/check-out procedure for your stay.
Send your deposit. Most rentals request a deposit to confirm the reservation. The deposit should be made only after the rental agreement has been reviewed and signed by both you and the owner/manager.
Stay safe with your payment. Most owners/managers accept credit cards. FlipKey has a payment tool available to create an easy, efficient, and safe payment process for all parties involved. Avoid paying by wire transfer (such as Western Union or Money Gram), and instead always pay by credit card or PayPal.
We recommend contacting your property manager/owner prior to arriving. Property managers and owners should provide information about check-in/check-out procedures, driving and parking directions, keys, and an emergency contact. Many properties include a welcome packet with details about garbage disposal, heat and air conditioning instructions, as well as passwords and keys to amenities such as the internet, hot tub, common amenities, etc.
Many properties provide soap, shampoo, detergent, linens/towels, basic toiletries and kitchen utensils. Either ask the manager/owner in advance or bring some small travel containers in case they are not provided. If you plan on cooking, ask the owner/manager where the local grocery store is located and bring any necessary spices or condiments from home.
Travelers renting seasonally should inquire about the amenities provided before arriving so you don’t have to buy anything once you’ve arrived. Properties on the beach may include beach towels, chairs, tubes, kayaks, life vests, etc., but be sure to confirm whether or not these are included with the rental beforehand.
Pro Tip: Managers and owners are great local resources for information on top restaurants and attractions so be sure to ask for some tips!
Every manager/owner has a system for key exchange. If renting through a property manager, they will typically have key pick-up/drop-off at a central office location within close proximity of your vacation home. Other methods of delivery include lock boxes, emailing you a keyless entry code, or even postal mailing you a key prior to your arrival. Make sure that you confirm how you will get the key before check-in. Some owners/managers like to meet their guests at their home when they arrive to go over check-in/check-out details. In this case, you probably would not receive a key prior to arriving. The rental agreement should include details about key exchange, otherwise be sure to ask the owner/manager in advance.
The rental property must only be occupied by the specified number of persons (including children and infants). The key holder may refuse to accept additional persons or invoice them separately. In the event of over-occupancy the key holder is authorized to refuse to hand over the key and/or to immediately take the key back during the holiday.
